Job Summary
This position is responsible for translating requirements into program specifications and writing moderate-to-complex programs for GAC SDS applications. This role develops, executes, and analyzes unit test plans and is responsible for ongoing support/maintenance of applications. The incumbent acts as an applications and business content coding subject matter expert linking system operations, application data, and business needs. This position works with application development teams to assist with the business rules and identify technical solutions for business issues.
This position analyzes/evaluates coding techniques to ensure coding methods are appropriate, consistent meet industry standards and to determine the appropriate implementation style. The incumbent designs and integrates application structures and unit test plans to ensure applications fit standards and are extensible, repeatable, maintainable, and fulfills business requirements. This role reviews/prioritizes recurring issues and application defects to maintain application accuracy, system availability, identify application issues and propose effective resolutions.
Responsibilities
Develops and maintains applications/processes using C#, ASP.NET MVC, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SQL Server, Oracle, Access DB and SSIS
Assists in development of queries, stored procedures, views using SQL, and ETL processes to support the development process
Documents and reports completed work to meet departmental requirements
Installs and configures standard technology products to complete customers’ work orders utilizing approved tools and following defined practices
Applies best practices for performance tuning, query optimization and modular coding techniques to improve efficiencies in production and user experience
Analyzes specifications and user requirements to perform assigned applications development work
Assists with system components designs to meet requirements
Analyzes, designs, codes, tests, and documents low to moderately complex programs to develop application software
Records and updates defects log to ensure accurate documentation
Executes procedures to monitor systems performance and integrity
Performs applications maintenance and support functions to support problem resolution
Conducts systems and requirements analyses to identify project action items
Contributes to task lists, cost and time estimates to support project plan development
Analyzes specifications and user requirements to perform assigned applications development work
Assists with system components designs to meet requirements
Preferences
Possesses knowledge of citrix server and application installation
Demonstrates excellent verbal communication, problem solving skills and good analytical abilities 
Minimum 5 years of experience with C#, ASP.NET MVC/ASP.NET Core, JavaScript, HTML, CSS
Minimum 5 years of experience with SQL Server/Oracle, Access DB and SSIS
Experience with windows based application programming and development
Experience with CI/CD and DevOps processes
Bachelor’s degree (or internationally comparable degree) in Computer Science or related field
Database design experience (SQL Server)
