General Description of Position:
Design, plan, install, support, and upgrade the software and hardware for the college’s enterprise Windows systems.
Major Responsibilities:
Manage the planning, testing, installation, deployment, maintenance, security, support, and administration of server hardware, operating systems, and third-party applications.
Participate in professional activities related to improving job skills and knowledge.
Develop and participate in disaster recovery exercises as required.
Maintain system backups and monitor logs.
Design solutions that meet both business and technical requirements.
Monitor and tune the systems to achieve optimum performance levels.
Provide Tier III end-user support.
Maintain high standards of quality by developing effective operational procedures and system documentation.
Work effectively and diplomatically with peers and users, share expertise with peers, and encourage a team-oriented environment. Present technical sessions to users and serve on project teams as requested by the supervisor.
Work with third-party vendors to integrate and support systems installed locally or hosted.
Research and recommend innovative, and where possible, automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage the College’s resources and provide economies of scale.
Must be willing to travel as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:
Associate degree in a computer-related field with additional documented computer coursework or equivalent work experience.
Seven or more years of work experience as a Windows systems administrator within Microsoft Active Directory.
Five or more years of experience managing Microsoft 365.
In-depth knowledge of virtualization technologies, specifically VMware.
Advanced experience with Active Directory and Azure AD, ADFS/SSO, Group Policy, Microsoft Exchange, Azure, and Microsoft Teams.
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server technologies.
Experience managing enterprise class backup solutions, preferably OwnBackup and Veeam.
Experience acting as technical lead for large-scale enterprise projects/implementations.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet and track deadlines continuously under minimal supervision.
Must be able to troubleshoot system issues up through the layers of the OSI model.
Must have excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills and demonstrated use of initiative and organizational abilities.
Knowledge of system monitoring, instrumentation, alerting, and troubleshooting.
Advanced experience using scripting languages to automate system administration processes, specifically PowerShell.
Strong analytical abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree.
Advanced experience with cloud integrations such as AWS, Google, Microsoft Azure.
Advanced experience supporting and administrating SAN’s, preferably EMC.
Extensive experience with blade infrastructure, preferably Cisco UCS hardware.
Experience with Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate.
Experience with Microsoft Remote Desktop Services (RDS) and SharePoint Online.
Advanced experience with SCCM.
