Description
The Database Administrator 2 manages and maintains the Resolution Team Quality databases. Responsible for standards and design of physical data storage, workflow, maintenance, access and security administration. The Database Administrator 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.
Responsibilities
The Database Administrator 2 performs backup and recovery on Database Management Systems, configures database parameters/workflow, and designs against logical data models, defines data repository requirements, data dictionaries and warehousing requirements. This position is responsible configuration of database workflow and all upkeep of our production and dev databases. Supports multiple databases of medium to high complexity (complexity defined by database size, technology used, systems feeds and interfaces) with multiple concurrent users, ensuring control, integrity and accessibility of data. Works with other departments within the resolution team as well as software vendor. Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedures.
Required Qualifications
Less than 5 years of technical experience managing databases and reporting.
Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
Prior experience working with SQL Server
Excellent Communication Skills (written and verbal)
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
Prior experience working with Java Script
Prior experience in Process or Project Management
Working knowledge of Badger and MetaVance systems
Additional Information
Must have the ability to provide a high speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended to support Humana applications
