Description
Responsibilities
The Lead Application Architect performs technical planning, architecture development and modification of specifications. Develops specifications for new products/services, applications and service offerings. Assesses the compatibility and integration of products/services proposed as standards in order to ensure an integrated architecture across interdependent applications. Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision. Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Planning and Modification of Specifications
Perform regular reviews of existing application architecture
Understand business purpose of software solution requests
Research new products/services to determine usefulness and compatibility with an integrated architecture across interdependent technologies that meet business goals
Design applications architecture solution specifications to meet business needs in alignment with enterprise architecture direction and standards
Recommend when portions of current architecture should be replaced with new components/technologies
Modify specifications of implemented/planned architecture as needed
Develop IT Application Architecture Solutions
Develop specifications for new recommended/accepted IT products/services, applications and service offerings
Make decisions regarding new IT products/services, applications and service offerings that are diverse in scope and complex in nature
Perform, collaborate and coordinate work across teams to insure additions and changes to application architecture are implemented successfully
Ensure that application architecture documentation is kept up to date with any new technology or configuration changes and that full documentation is shared with the Enterprise Architecture and Software Engineering teams
Contribute to system disaster recovery planning, documentation and execution
Provide after-hours support related to updating application architecture as needed
Lead Team
Provide leadership and direction for a team responsible for planning, analysis and design of software solutions
Partner with business owners to propose and analyze potential technology solutions to business opportunities
Understand and map current business process
Work with business owners to modify current business processes to improve their efficiency and accuracy
Suggest systems solutions that utilize existing technology in new and innovative ways to leverage existing IT resources effectively, while improving business efficiency
Propose the utilization of new technology to solve business problems in a highly efficient, accurate and cost effective manner
Design, Develop and Implement Shared Application Solutions for the Enterprise
Develop specifications for shared services and modules that will be incorporated into solutions and applications by various teams, in order to achieve productivity gains, security objectives etc.

Required Qualifications
Our Department of Defense contract requires U.S. Citizenship
Successfully receive interim approval for government security clearance (eQIP - Electronic Questionnaire for Investigation Processing)
Bachelor's degree, technical area preferred or technical training equivalent
Eight years of relevant information technology experience
Two or more years project management experience
Ability to work well in a team development setting
Experience with a modern Integrated Development Environment (IDE) and other software development tools
Experience with Microsoft Office or similar tools
Good oral and written communication skills
Extensive knowledge of design patterns
Experience with UML diagrams - class and sequence diagrams
Experience with process and data flow diagrams
Experience working in Agile Environment converting user stories to architectural design
Experience designing and implementing relational databases
Ability to work on multiple project simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree
Healthcare experience
Microsoft Development environments
SQL Server Experience
Azure Cloud Experience
Working knowledge of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
